• Most preliminary FE analyses are carried out using a coarse mesh global ship model built from 2D AutoCAD drawings. Refined sub-models are required to further assess local details. These sub-models can be time consuming to generate using traditional tools.

• The re-meshing and refinement tools in Hypemesh allow coarse models to be quickly refined to the desired mesh density allowing the user to take full advantage of prebuilt coarse FE models and save modeling time
